Sintered stone is a premium surface made by carefully blending natural minerals—such as quartz, feldspar and clays—and compacting them under extreme heat and pressure. This process replicates, and accelerates, the way natural stone is formed in the earth over thousands of years, resulting in a surface that is dense, durable and highly stable.

Unlike engineered stone, sintered stone contains no resins or binders. It is created using a high-temperature sintering process rather than being chemically bound together. This means it’s non-porous, UV stable and highly resistant to heat, stains and scratches, making it suitable for a wide range of applications including benchtops, splashbacks, vanities and even exterior use.

In simple terms, sintered stone offers the refined look of natural stone with advanced performance characteristics, while avoiding the limitations historically associated with resin-based surfaces. For benchtops, 12mm and 20mm are the most suitable thicknesses. Our 12mm slabs are particularly popular because they’re versatile and ideal for creating thicker edge profiles—such as 40mm or 60mm—thanks to their ease of mitre joining. They work beautifully across benchtops, splashbacks, vanities, furniture and high-traffic commercial surfaces.

For projects needing extra strength and rigidity, 20mm offers a premium, solid feel with excellent stability and everyday durability.

We also offer 6mm slabs, best suited to lightweight interior wall applications and select exterior cladding.

Yes. MAMO supports custom design outcomes by fabricating tailored stone pieces—such as curved sintered stone—directly from your drawings or specifications. While we aren’t installers, we work alongside your nominated fabricator to ensure the final product is ready for seamless installation. Our team can help you navigate drawings, tolerances and what’s possible with each material.

For colours not held in stock, you can generally expect a 6–12 week lead time. This can vary slightly depending on production timing and freight, and we’ll always confirm expected arrival dates when you place your order.

We offer a variety of slab sizes and thicknesses across our collections. Sintered stone is typically available in 6mm, 12mm and 20mm, while natural stone and terrazzo are generally supplied in 20mm. Specific dimensions vary by colour, and our team can provide exact measurements for your project.

No, we don’t provide installation services. MAMO supplies the material, and all on-site fabrication and installation are handled by your nominated stonemason or builder. We’re always happy to recommend trusted trade partners if you need support.

MAMO offers indicative slab pricing for early planning and specification. Accurate, project-specific pricing is issued by the stonemason engaged to fabricate and install your benchtops or surfaces, ensuring all labour, detailing and installation factors are properly accounted for.

Because edge details, cut-outs, site conditions and installation requirements can all impact the overall cost, we always recommend engaging a stonemason early in the design process. This ensures your client receives reliable budgeting and a seamless outcome from specification through to installation.

As a rule, stick to pH-neutral cleaners and avoid harsh or abrasive products.
